DR MICHÈLE TARENTO

Doctor, osteopath, ENT, phoniatrist, lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine (Paris), graduate in Bioenergetics and Modern Dance, follows a multidisciplinary path between dance, movement, sound and fundamental sciences: Functional Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Biology.

Her personal approach to movement research has led her to become familiar for many years with the practices of Gi Gong, yoga, Thai massage, singing, and contact improvisation dance.

Her meeting in 2011 with Steve LEVIN, orthopedic surgeon, designer of biosensitivity, opened new doors of fundamental research on the architecture of the living, which she applies in particular to her research on movement, dance and osteopathy.

Designer of the Osteo Awakening® since 1999 (www.osteo-eveil.fr, www.osteo-eveil.com) and researcher in the Biotensegrity Interested Group (BIG) since 2011, she carries out original research in the field of perception and body awareness of the dynamism of fascias, informed by biotensegrity, which is of interest to somatic practices such as yoga, gi gong, as well as contact improvisation dance and therapeutic practices such as osteopathy, fasciatherapy, rolfing®…

The enlightenment of biosensitivity is essential for her today to approach the fascias in a fundamental consideration of their dynamism and to address the important issues of homeostasis and comfort in the structure.

She writes articles and gives workshops, lectures, seminars on her research at international congresses: Washington (2014), Brussels (2012, 2014), Berlin (2018), Paris (2007, 2017), Post graduate training in osteopathy: St Petersburg (2018), 20th anniversary of the Academy of Osteopathy, 2019, Comparative Osteopathy Meetings: St Ygnan: 2014, 2019, 2021)…

She is the author of 2 books: ““Building his body with the osteo awakening and biotensegrity”, Sully, 2016 :  Biotensegrity, Fascia, Osteopathy, towards a conscious perception of the dynamic architecture of the body -Sully, September 2021.

Osteo Awakening® presents introspective, creative and preventive components that allow each person to take charge of his or her life, by developing a sharpened awareness of the bones in particular, as well as of his or her posture, gestures and movements (macroscopic and microscopic), for any activity… whatever it may be, personal or collective, daily or specialized.

More recently, a therapeutic aspect has been developed which benefits from the encounter with the concept of Biotensegrity and which is beginning to find its place in human and animal osteopathy in particular.
